Yin Yoga, with its focus on minimizing distractions and cultivating mindfulness, has also deepened my meditation practice. It’s taught me to sit with life’s moments—both the easy and the challenging—and relax into a situation before jumping into action. For someone like me, with a go-getter attitude and a restless streak, this balance has been transformative. It’s helped me use my energy more wisely and with intention.
Physically, Yin Yoga has been a game-changer. It keeps me mobile, flexible, and ready for the demands of daily life. Whether it’s hiking, cardio, or more active yoga styles like hatha or vinyasa, Yin has complemented and supported all my movement practices beautifully.
With over a decade of experience in yoga, daily sadhana practice, and training with inspiring teachers like Sarah Powers, Elena Brower, Kelly Kamm, and Abbie Galvin, my journey has been one of deep learning and exploration. I’ve poured everything I’ve learned into creating classes that honor traditional yoga methods and encourage clarity, focus, and a stronger sense of Self.

Yin Yoga Offerings
In my Yin Yoga classes, I offer a dharma talk or intention steeped in spirituality and yoga philosophy, often drawing from the Yoga Sutras or the 8 Limbs to guide our practice. I curate soft, soothing playlists to create a safe space for slowing down and opening up. Incorporating mindfulness and breathing techniques supports the longer holds, while I provide insight into the physical aspects, targeting connective tissue for increased flexibility and mobility. This holistic approach ensures a deeply nurturing and transformative experience.
Deep Release: Yin Yoga with Hands-On Support
You’ll experience a deep release in this Yin Yoga and assists workshop with me and Ashley Miller, LMT. As I guide you to melt and release into the yin yoga postures, Ashley will provide gentle hands-on adjustments to help you go deeper. We focus on safe, seated, and supported postures, offering an invitation to explore your edge. With the support of an experienced and loving assist, you’ll feel held and more capable of exploring deeper sensations, enhancing your range of motion and overall practice.
Harmonious Release: Yin Yoga with Live Music
Join us for a special Yin Yoga class accompanied by live music from Angela Hassan, whose Bhakti and Kirtan background will fill your heart with joy as you relax into the postures. I’ll begin the session with a brief intention to center us, while Angela transforms the space with her melodic and whimsical renditions of traditional kirtan, modern English songs, and various instruments. Experience the gift of live music paired with the transformative power of yoga, creating a truly devotional and serene atmosphere.

Yin-Inversion Flow
Experience a Yin-Inversion Flow, where we explore going upside down safely and effectively. We’ll begin with yin yoga to gently open and prepare the body, building the flexibility needed for effortless inversions like headstands, shoulder stands, and arm balances. After a slow and relaxing start, we transition into dynamic movement, prepping for the inversion of focus. Props and modifications will be provided, ensuring a supportive experience. Enjoy a fun, energizing playlist as you gain confidence and strength in your inversion practice.
Students are encouraged to move at their own pace and props are provided for beginners just testing the waters of going upside down.

Yoga Nidra & Sound Bath
Experience deep relaxation and healing in our Yoga Nidra & Sound Bath class, co-led by Ashley Miller. This session is perfect for the busy body, overworked parent, or anyone seeking to unwind and heal. We begin with a guided Yoga Nidra practice, helping the mind enter a state between wakefulness and sleep, where profound healing occurs. As you rest in a fully supported, comfortable position, Ashley will guide you through a heart-opening soundscape, enhancing your inward journey. This tranquil environment offers a restorative experience for practitioners of all levels.
Ashley, of Moon and Wind Massage Therapy, and Katy transform a space into a peaceful sanctuary, bringing with them flowers, incense, instruments, and crystals.
Meditation Essentials: Techniques & Traditions
Expand your practice with my meditation workshops and/or class series, where we explore various tools such as mindfulness, chakra balancing, concentration, and breathing techniques to guide you toward a serene, empty mind. Grounded in the ancient teachings of the Yoga Sutras, we’ll reference the 8 Limbs of yoga to filter thoughts and emotions, helping you reach a state of deep oneness and contemplation. Each session includes light stretching, a brief lecture, and practices like Japa malas, chanting, affirmations, guided visualizations, and prayer for a liberating experience.
